I have learned the most valuable thing in life - Cherish your surroundings. Almost everyone gets caught up in wanting more and more objects and wealth to make them happy. This may make you feel better for a while, but everything passes.
If you let your ego control you, you will never truly be happy.
One of the best ways to get out of this cycle is to take a look at what you have already been given. Look outside and start to feel the warmth of the sun. Take a look at how beautiful the trees and plants are. How many colors can you see around you. Stop and smell the flowers. Hear the birds. There is a calming sensation about nature that brings you back to your core being.
If you practice meditation, a great place to do this is outside. You can incorporate all your senses into this practice. Life has given you so much already. It's just about realizing it and taking the time to look.
Happiness is not a tangible item, so how can it come from "owning" "things".
Happiness comes from realizing how beautiful your life is already. Knowing that everything on this earth can contribute to making you feel complete is such a key to feeling great. Practice it. You will see how your life will unfold in many different ways.
