My brother is getting married soon to his one and only love. I am so happy for him and I look forward to all the festivities. I am lucky that he's marrying a wonderful girl, but I do hear some horror stories from many people that they can't stand their sister-in-law. It's really sad when you hear this because now she is a part of the family and she should be loved as if you were part of the family. I am an optimistic person and I believe that your sister-in-law should be like your sister, so it can be worked out.

Here are some of my ValSecrets on how to cultivate a relationship with your Sister-in-law;

- You should get to know her. You should have moments with her in person and get to know her as if were getting to know any new friend. Email her, friend her on a social network, text message her, call her.. She will understand that you care.

- Make efforts to Include her. You should include her in girls get- togethers, mass emails that you send to your family and friends, photos that you have recently taken, or anything that involves the family.

- Accept her for who she is. It's tough to be a part of a new family so she might be a bit shy or she may not be apprehensive about opening up to a new family. You should be patient with her and let her understand that you care about her.

- Be complimentary. Kindness goes a long way.

- Stay out of their business. Don't get involved with your brother and her business, unless they ask you. She won't appreciate you butting in.

Finally, welcome her to the family, after all you have a new sister!

Love!.
