Purpose:
Maximize the space and make bathroom and shower routines fast and effective with better organization.

Estimated Time: Varies

Tools:
Garbage Bags / Plastic Storage Bins (optional) / Hamper / Small Trash Can / Shower Caddy (optional) / Door Hooks (optional)

Step 1: Take everything out of your medicine cabinet and/or under-sink storage.

Step 2:
Begin throwing things out, including:
Anything expired or over a year old
Anything that has dried out or been used up
Anything you rarely use
Bottles and boxes with unreadable or missing labels
Anything rusted or missing pieces (i.e. old razors)

Step 3:
Place all prescription medications in a covered box and keep in a dry, cool, dark area away from children. Bathroom dampness can significantly accelerate the expiration of most medicines.

Step 4:
Fill your medicine cabinet with things you need on a daily or frequent basis, including:

Hair products
Skin care products
Shaving products and razors
Toothbrush, toothpaste and dental products
Deodorant
Pain relievers like aspirin
Band-Aids and disinfectant (like rubbing alcohol)
Topical anesthetic
Hydrocortisone cream
Over-the counter medicines for colds, allergies, heartburn and stomach problems

Step 5:
Group items together by their usage. For example: shaving, hair care, etc.

Step 6:
Keep smaller pieces, like nail clippers and spare razors, together in a small cup or jar.

Step 7:
All other first aid supplies should be gathered in a kit and kept in a dry, cool, dark away from children.

Step 8:
Put lesser-used items, large bottles and paper supplies under the sink or store in a covered plastic storage container in a closet.

Step 9:
Add a hamper for towels and a small garbage can for trash to keep clutter minimized.

Tips:
If you’re still having space issues, consider installing shelves to free up counter space and hooks on the back of your door for towels and robes. Try using a shower caddy to keep bath supplies together and easy to reach.
