Umm. that is what I do. Play hard to get. I don't have to try to do this, I just do it naturally. I might be blocking off some good potential men though.

Great advice, Cat. I was going to blog on a similar topic, so I’ll give my ‘guy perspective’ here. The long eye gaze is key. I, myself, have never approached a woman at a bar (or wherever) without first getting the eye gaze green light. By doing this, you’re giving the guy some added assurance that he won’t get shot down if he approaches you. If a guy is still reluctant to approach you, maybe he still hasn’t mustered the confidence. Or, maybe he’s already taken, and is just enjoying the fact that an attractive woman is flirting with him from across the room. Touching a guy on the arm is a great way to signal that you’d like him to stick around for a while. But, as Cat says, don’t get all up in his grill and start falling all over him or you could come across as a bit desperate. Laughing and smiling are important. It shows him that you are digging his personality and conversation, in addition to the initial attraction that got you two talking in the first place. Again, don’t overdo it. If you are laughing excessively at things that may not even be that funny, you may come off as fake. As far as playing hard-to-get, what man doesn’t like a good challenge? Don’t play it too one-sided though, or he’ll think you’re impossible to get. You gotta keep giving him signals that you're genuinely interested, or he'll get sick of the game pretty quick. The cat and mouse game can be fun when you’re getting to know someone. Guys like to play games at that point in the game (too many ‘games’ in this sentence). Once you’re in a relationship with the guy, though, he’s pretty much done playing games.
