Everyone has heard the saying it is not what you know it is who you know that counts
Maybe that sounds unfair, but think of it another way: if no one knows about your skills, talents, services, projects who is going to help you make the best of them ?

In todays world people often need to work together in loose partnerships to achieve their goals quickly. So the ability to develop and maintain a broad network of business friendships is a critical skill for every career professional

Networking is much more than a simple introduction, it is a time honored process of devolping relationships. It is a learned skill, some people are just more natural at it than others, but you can learn from those seasoned networkers. Watch them closely, they look professional, they are oftern very good listeners, they smile, they are approachable, they almost have a presense in a room.

People with strong networks of diversified business associates get more things done and more efficiently. The defintion of networking is simply getting to know other people, their abilities, their interests and doing so in the expectation this might provide mutual benefit.
