Growing up with little I love you's being said, reflects how I am today with affection. This has made it difficult for me to say the phrase * I love you *; but I have also realized that actions mean more than words. I know I am loved without those 3 little words being said but I think expressing my love for family and friends would be a lot easier if i was introduced to it as a child. So, if you have children tell them you love them and show them affection, this will allow them to express their feelings without thinking twice.
